Crabber's body found in SW Louisiana

HACKBERRY, La. (AP) - The body of a 26-year-old Hackberry man has been recovered by state Wildlife and Fisheries Department agents and Cameron Parish officials.

Deputies tell the American Press that Jack Welch left from a boat launch in Hackberry Monday morning to set out crab pots. He was reported missing Tuesday evening. His body was recovered Wednesday.

Investigators found Welch's overturned boat less than a mile from the launch.

Lt. Remy Broussard with Wildlife and Fisheries said authorities are treating the incident as a boating accident.
