Here's a few headlines from the State News.

Two people were injured early Thursday morning after being shot in a parking lot outside a Texas college dorm in Tyler.

According to police, one person was shot in the abdomen while the other was hit in the hand.

Both male victims have been transported to the hospital. The student with the wound to the abdomen is listed in serious condition.

At this time, police say no one has been identified or arrested. The dorm is not located on the main campus.

A pickup truck crammed with as many as 25 people crashed into an SUV near the Texas-Mexico border today.

Three people were killed and at least nine others were hurt in what authorities believe was an illegal immigrant smuggling attempt.

The wreck happened before dawn on U.S. Highway 83 in the small valley town of Penitas, about 15 miles west of McAllen.

The highway is the main east-west traffic artery in the lower Rio Grande valley.

CVS Caremark has agreed to pay Texas $315,000 and overhaul its information security system to settle an identification-related lawsuit brought by the state.

The suit alleged the drugstore operator dumped credit card numbers, medical information and other material from more than 1,000 customers into a garbage bin in Liberty after a store relocated.

CVS says the improper disposal violated company policies and the store manager's been fired.
