Lockdown lifted at Vidor Junior High
Update: A lockdown at Vidor Junior High prompted by a "perceived threat" on someone's MySpace account has been lifted, according to information from Vidor ISD spokeswoman Sally Andrews.
The lockdown began at about 10:15 a.m. and ended within an hour.
Andrews says the Vidor ISD technical staff looked at the MySpace account and determined what was written didn't constitute an imminent threat to students or staff.
Students remained in their classrooms during the lockdown.
This is the last day of school in Vidor ISD before summer vacation begins.
"Many kids have already gone home because it's the last day of school. It's an early dismissal day. Kids get out at about 1:15 but most will be gone by then," said Kirkpatrick.
