A 71-year-old Beaumont man has died following an early morning accident.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on Highway 124 in front of the Country Village Apartments.    

Authorities tell KFDM News Roosevelt Richard was traveling northbound on 124 when he collided with a southbound truck.

The truck was transporting a house.

The truck shirred the top of Richard's car and he was pronounced dead at the scene

Officials are investigating a major accident on Highway 124 in Jefferson County.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on Highway 124 in front of the Country Village Apartments.

Authorities tell KFDM News a man was travelling Eastbound on 124 when he collided with a westbound truck.

The truck was transporting a house.

The man drove into the house and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 124 between Major Drive and Smith Road is currently closed while authorities investigate the accident.
