Rehabilitating Bolivar roadways after Ike
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to a Houston based company to rehabilitate Highway 87 on the Bolivar Peninsula.
The $6 million project is split into 3 sections for work, from the ferry to Highway 124, raising the road anywhere from 3 inches to 2 feet depending on existing elevation.
Work will begin July 6.
Also, workers began this month setting up barriers from Highway 124 to Gilchrist with the intent of protecting the road from high tides and minimal flooding events.
