8/22 Leger's Restaurant Report Card
Comments 0 | Recommend 0This weeks' restaurant inspection scores come to us from the Jefferson County Health Department.
Most of the dining spots are in Mid-County. Here are the highs and lows in this week's edition of Leger's Restaurant Report Card.
#1. FAMOUS BUFFET 5080 TWIN CITY HIGHWAY/GRADE=70
We begin with Famous Buffet on Twin City Highway. Inspector Jones found workers thawing food in an unsafe manner, fish, shrimp, vegetables and egg foo young were at unsafe temperatures, the floors needed cleaning, and the hand wash facilities were not adequate. Famouse Buffet on Twin City barely passes with a score of 70.
#2. GRAND BUFFET 2250 HIGHWAY 365/GRADE=71
Next Inspector Jones checked out Grand buffet on Highway 365. The inspector found the back door open which was allowing flies to get inside... there were fly strips above the food preparation table, workers without hair restraints and the cooler wasn't cold enough. Grand buffet on Highway 365 gets a 71.
#3. NOVROSKY'S 3016 HWY 365/GRADE=73
Now to Novrosky's on Highway 365. Inspector Jones found BBQ beef at an unsafe temperature, there was no sanitizer in the dish washer to kill germs, mold in the ice machine, the floors and dish areas were very dirty. Novrosky's initially scored a 73.. but on reinspection improved somewhat to an 81.
#4. LITTLE CAESARS 1029 NEDERLAND AVE/GRADE=77
Next the Inspector checked out Little Caesars on Nederland Avenue where she found no hot water at the hand sink, ceilings and vents were dusty and greasy. Little Caesars gets a 77.
#5. CHURCH'S CHICKEN 903 NEDERLAND AVE. GRADE=78
and finally the inspector checked out Church's Chicken on Nederland Avenue. Inspector Jones found mold in the dining area, ceiling tiles missing, floor times were missing.. and everything needed to be cleaned . Church's Chicken earned a 78.
Other scores include Popeye's Fried Chicken on Highway 365 with an 81, Sun Wok on Nederland Avenue with an 82, John's Grill with an 87, McDonald's on Twin City Highway with an 89, the Jefferson County Jail earned a 94, Bobby's Homestyle Cooking received a 94, Butcher's Korner with a 96 and the ExxonMobil Refinery with a 97.
Our Blue Ribbon Award for perfect scores goes to Champagne's Bakery on Twin City Highway and Fastlane Number 2 on Memorial Boulevard.
