SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A Bexar (BAYR) County jury has sentenced a San Antonio grandmother to 18 years in prison for the 2005 drowning death of her 3-month-old granddaughter. The San Antonio Express-News reports Gabriella Sigler must serve half of the sentence before being eligible for parole. WEATHERFORD, Texas (AP) - North Texas authorities are investigating the lack of food and water as a possible factor in the deaths of 11 horses. Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler says 40 horses in all were on the 3,000-acre ranch near Weatherford. Fowler says the owner of the horses leased the land and hired someone to feed and provide water to the horses. He says nine horses were found dead Wednesday and two were euthanized Thursday.
DALLAS (AP) - Gov. Rick Perry's not on the invitation list of those organizing an America's Tea Party rally at Southfork Ranch near Dallas tomorrow. The organizers hope to draw 50,000 people to the venue. Perry fired up an April anti-tax "tea party" in Austin with his denunciation of the federal government and his call for state rights. Dallas Tea Party organizers say they've accepted no support from any political party and won't allow any elected official or anyone running for office to speak.
