Bank Planning to Auction Property to Satisfy Hospital Debt
July 22, 2008 6:52 PM
A bank is planning to sell property and equipment belonging to Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper to satisfy debts totaling nearly $2.7 million.
Omnibank N.A. has posted notice it will auction the property and equipment on August 5 to the highest bidder for cash.
"The hospital serves a valuable role in the region, and we expect that role to continue no matter what happens in August," said hospital administrator John Tatum.
Tatum said he received notice of the sale, but hasn't had any conversations with bankers.
