Huntsman releases name of employee found dead at plant

Huntsman is releasing to KFDM News the identity of a man who was found dead Wednesday inside the Port Neches plant.

Huntsman spokesman Russ Stolle has identified the man as Herbert Derese, 58, of LaBelle,

Justice of the Peace Bob Morgan says co-workers of Derese found his body at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday inside the Huntsman plant on Spur 136 in Port Neches.  The body was in the area where railcars are loaded and unloaded.

Judge Morgan says it appears Derese fell about ten feet.   The judge ordered an autopsy to determine if Derese might have suffered a heart attack or other medical problem that led to the fall.  The results are pending.

Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves is handling the arrangements for Derese's funeral.
