Jury convicts Desrel Linden of murder

A jury has convicted Desrel Linden of murder, and he could face up to life in prison once the punishment phase is completed.

The jury returned with the verdict shortly after noon Thursday.

The jury went home Wednesday without reaching a decision.

According to testimony, 47 year old Linden told police he shot and killed 22 year old Peter Tran.

He says he did it in self defense because he says Tran threatened his life.

It happened in May of 2007 in the 46 hundred block of Gulfway.

The pair got into an argument at a gas station.

Linden admitted to officers that he fire four shots at Tran while both were driving down a road.
