KFDM statement about transmitter modifications

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

KFDM will be making some modifications to our transmitter which will increase our signal power.  This work will require us to be off the air overnight tonight starting at 10:35pm.

KFDM will return to the air as soon as the transmitter work is completed.  We estimate being back on the air by 6:00 AM Friday.  Both 6.1 (CBS) and 6.2 (CW) will be off while this work is being done.

Subscribers to Time Warner cable will not be affected. Viewers using antennas, subscribing to other cable services or either satellite company will be affected.

This power modification is the first phase of a larger project designed to enhance the KFDM digital signal.  Later this month, the KFDM transmitting antenna will be relocated to a higher position on our tower.  This is designed to improve the KFDM signal east of Vidor toward Louisiana.  The antenna re-location part of the project is scheduled to begin July 20th and will take an estimated 10 to 14 days to complete if weather delays are not encountered.
