Labor Day weekend forecast includes rain

Rain is in the Labor Day weekend forecast but any potential long-term tropical threat from Erika has dissipated.

KFDM meteorologists report moisture levels will be increasing and a series of upper level disturbances will be moving in from the north.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible but severe weather isn't in the forecast.  Rainfall totals are likely to be less than one inch in a 24 hour period.   The forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain Friday, 60% on Saturday and Sunday, and 40% on Labor Day.

Erika has weakened to an area of low pressure to the southeast of Puerto Rico.  The remains of Erika will likely move into the Bahamas late in the weekend and early next week.
