7/3 Leger's Restaurant Report

This weeks' restaurant inspection scores come to us from the Beaumont Health Department.

Sanitarians discovered food at unsafe temperature, flies and workers without hair nets.

We've got the highs and lows in this edition of Leger's Restaurant Report Card.

LOGAN'S ROADHOUSE 4185 Dowlen/GRADE=75

We begin with Logan's Roadhouse. Inspector Lee found steaks at unsafe temperatures as well as the meat cooler and walk in freezer. The sinks used to wash hands were inaccessible, there were flies in the dish area.. And a worker using fly spray in the dish area. Logan's Roadhouse gets a 75.

FERTITTA'S FINER FOODS DELI 1155 S. 11th/GRADE=75

Next Inspector Lee dropped by Fertitta's Finer Foods and Deli on South 11th. She found macaroni salad at an unsafe temperature, there were flies, the hand sink was blocked and there was mildew on the soda nozzels. Fertitta's Finer Foods and Deli gets a 75.

MCALISTERS DELI 3050 DOWLEN ROAD GRADE=79

now to Mcalisters Deli on Dowlen where Inspector Wilhelm found the manager without a hair restraint, she advised workers to clean the place thoroughly each night, and a spatula was old and worn. Mcalisters Deli gets a 79.

CHINESE GOURMET EXPRESS PARKDALE MALL/GRADE=81

Chief Inspector Girard dropped in on Chinese Gourmet Express in Parkdale Mall. She found workers improperly thawing meat, an employee without a hair restraint, a baby roach on the front counter, and the inspector said the wok area needed cleaning. Chinese Gourmet Express in Parkdale Mall gets an 81.

Here are some other scores from the Beaumont Health Department.

Starbucks on Dowlen scored an 88, Waffle House on I-10 South an 89. Warren Donuts on South 11th received a 90 and Chick-Fil-A in Parkdale Mall scored a 90.

The McDonalds inside Wal-Mart on Dowlen did well with a 97, Jack in the Box also made a 97, the King Palace Cafe on Dowlen earned a 93 and Mcdonalds near Laurel scored a 97.

Perfect scores go to Honey B Ham, Two Magnolias on Main Street and Whataburger on South Dowlen. The Hebert Health and Wellness Center at Christus was also perfect.

Other 100's include the Green Beanery Cafe on McFaddin and HEB Cafe on Dowlen.
