LCM Celebrates Veterans Day
Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School’s annual Veteran’s Day ceremony took place at 11:11a.m. on Wednesday.
The flag bearers and students playing Taps were dressed in vintage military uniforms from the collection of LCM teacher, Bernard Perricone. Detective Mike Langley of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department was the featured speaker.
There was also a ceremony at the junior high.
“It is easy for me to welcome you here today,” said Little Cypress Junior High Principal Keith Lindsey, of the veterans attending Wednesday’s breakfast in their honor. “I appreciate and respect what you have done for us. “You personify history for us,” he went on to say as he opened the school’s Veteran’s Day Ceremony.
Dozens of LCJH students and teachers brought parents and grandparents who have or are serving in the military. A video with pictures of the veterans in uniform and their service information was presented as part of the recognition.
