6/26 Leger's Restaurant Report Card
This week's Restaurant Report Card comes to us from the Hardin County Health Department.
Inspector Kellum conducted surprise inspections across the county and we've got the highs and lows in this edition of the Restaurant Report Card.
HOT WOK 76 NORTH LHS DRIVE/LUMBERTON GRADE=65/90
We begin with Hot Wok on North LHS Drive in Lumberton. Inspector Kellum advised the management to contact pest control to deal with roaches in the restaurant. She said everything in the kitchen needed cleaning and food was not at safe temperatures. Hot Wok in Lumberton received an initial score of 65 but during a follow up visit Hot Wok improved to a 90.
JACK IN THE BOX 190 SOUTH MAIN LUMBERTON/GRADE=88
Next is Jack in the Box on South Main in Lumberton. Inspector Kellum says the area around the toaster was dirty, there was grease on the floor around the grill, hot water wasn't hot enough at the hand sink and there were gnats in the dish washing area. Jack in the Box gets an 88.
DAIRY QUEEN 1180 NORTH 5TH ST. SILSBEE/GRADE=87
Now to Dairy Queen on North 5th St. In Silsbee. Inspector Kellum found slime and mold on the ice machine.. And the restaurant needed more thermometers to ensure food is at safe temperatures. Dairy Queen in Silsbee gets an 87.
The other restaurants inspected in Hardin County all get blue ribbon awards for perfect scores from the health department.
They include Smoothie King in Lumberton, The Cottage on Old Evadale Highway in Silsbee, Dippity's on South Main in Lumberton, Gourmet Cupboard on Highway 105 in Sour Lake and Brookshire Brothers on Highway 69 at Highway 326 in Kountze.
