Grand jury doesn't indict TABC agents in fatal shooting

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Three Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents are not facing charges over the fatal shooting of a man who allegedly tried to run over them.
A Travis County grand jury on Tuesday declined to indict the trio in the Aug. 16 shooting of 25-year-old Steven Lunt of Austin. He died Sept. 2.
District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg said one agent fired 16 times. Lunt was shot three times.
TABC officials have said agents shot Lunt, at an apartment complex parking lot, when he allegedly tried to run them down in his car.
Lunt had a blood alcohol level of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit for driving.
The TABC officials still face an internal affairs review. Commission officials say policy changes have been made since the shooting, including teaching more de-escalation techniques.
