J.P. Bob Morgan officially announces he won't seek re-election
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Jefferson County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Bob Morgan has officially announced he won't be a candidate for re-election in the March, 2010 Democratic Primary.
Judge Morgan has served the citizens of Precinct 2 since December, 1996. He was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Judge Johnny Knowles and has been elected to three, 4 year terms. His term will end December 31, 2010. He'll serve until the end of his term.
Judge Morgan served as mayor of Port Arthur from 1994 to 1998.
Judge Morgan released a statement addressing his announcement:
"It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the citizens of Precinct 2 as Justice of the Peace and the citizens of the City of Port Arthur as Mayor. I sincerely appreciate the trust shown by electing me to these offices. The experience is even more meaningful because I have been able to serve the City where I was born, raised and educated. The City gave so much to me and my family and I had a chance to give something back."
