Nederland student wins new car from Philpott

May 28, 2009 - 7:37 PM

It's a great way to end the school year.

A Nederland High School student wound up with a brand new car, free of charge.

For the 7th year in a row Philpott Motors conducted a drawing from names of students who have only three or fewer absences at the end of the year.

Philpott general manager Bob Thewman presented the new car to senior Chloe Louvier.

Chloe had her choice of either a Toyota Yaris or a Hyundai Accent. She picked the Toyota.

Philpott is one of Nederland's education partners and donates a new car every year to encourage attendance at Nederland High School.

We thank the district for sending us pictures of the event in the Nederland Performing Arts Center.
