IKE EVACUEES - You Can Watch KFDM News
If you are out of town this weekend after evacuating from Hurricane Ike, or if you lost your connection on your satellite dish and can't pick up Channel 6 at any time during Hurricane Ike, then we would like to you know you will be able to watch our newscasts on KFDM.com beginning tomorrow.
We have NOT compiled a schedule just yet, but we will make an announcement on this site as soon as we create out master plan this afternoon.
The idea is for you to see the news going on right here in Southeast Texas like you would if you were sitting in your own living room.
We know that it's frustrating watching national news and news in towns like Austin, Lufkin, or Dallas when you know severe weather is going on back in your SETX home town.
That's why we have created an online video stream that will show you exactly what we are airing on KFDM Channel 6. So the next question for you is "How do I use it?"
The method for watching this video online is simple. When you log into the homepage www.kfdm.com a box will automatically appear at the top of the page.
The box will have a colorful graphic on the front with a triangular "play button" right in the center of the box. To the left of the box there will be an announcement message stating around what time we are going to start the stream and directions for when you need to refresh the page or CLICK ON PLAY.
As mentioned earlier, we are going to have a schedule written out for you. If you miss the beginning of the live stream, we will still be cutting the most important video and sticking it on our website like we've always done in the past to archive the content.
Once again this is our best way to help you watch the news from out of town just like you would in your own living room. It's also, in our minds, going to be the best real time way for us to help let you know what's going on in your town while you are away from it.
Check back here later this afternoon. We will update this story and hope to have a schedule for Friday posted later this evening.
Be safe and good luck travelling during these times of storm.
