Newton Robbery Leaves Two Injured

A late night Newton robbery left two victims injured, and three suspects on the run.

The incident occurred around 9p.m. at the Brookshire Brothers store on Highway 190 West.

Newton Police Chief Tommy Adams said three males attacked two store managers as they approached the entrance of the main store after shutting down the store's fuel stop with money in hand.

According to Adams, one of the victims was struck in the eye, while the other was struck in the back of his head. The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Newton Police and Sheriff's Deputies searched for the suspects throughout the night, they remained at large on Thursday.

One of the suspects is described as a black male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, standing 5'10"-6'00" and weighing about 160-200 pounds.

Another suspect was only described as a black male, wearing black shorts and black shoes.

There was no further description of the third suspect.
