A man who served nearly 20 years on Hardin County Commissioners Court is retiring.

Monday was the last official day in office for Precinct 1 Commissioner Bob Burgess.

He has packed up his belongings at his office in Silsbee and is ready to enjoy retirement.

Burgess says he'll remain involved in the community.

Kenneth Reidenger will be sworn in to office Tuesday to succeed Burgess on the court.

Riedenger had been Burgess' foreman for 15 years.
