New officers take the oath

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

11 new officers have taken their oaths and become Beaumont police officers.

They include ten men and one women.

The new officers have varied backgrounds.

One is former Lamar University golfer and a number of the new officers have law enforcement experience and served in the military.

Another officer is a former disc jockey at 'Big Dog' 106.

Chief Frank Coffin says the department is selective when it chooses new officers and only a small percentage of those who apply become Beaumont police officers.
