Police Investigating Fatal Accident in Orange

Information: On 05-23-2008 at 5:49 am, officers of the Orange Police Department and first responders from the Orange Fire Department were dispatched to the 3100 blk. of Edgar Brown in regards to a major accident. Acadian Ambulance was also dispatched.
Upon arrival officers observed an accident involving a north bound truck and a south bound passenger car which was attempting a left turn into a business. The truck struck the passenger side of the south bound vehicle causing the passenger to be ejected. This male subject, a 29 year old Orange resident, was found to be deceased. The female driver of the car, a 33 year old resident of Orange was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance and the male driver of the truck, a 45 year old resident of Port Arthur, was transported to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital - Orange by Acadian Ambulance. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Parkhurst was called to the scene and ordered an autopsy on the deceased. The deceased was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue by Shaver's Transport. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin. Officers with the West Orange Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
