Renaissance Reviewing Hardin County Hospital Plans
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Executives with Renaissance Healthcare tell KFDM News the company is deciding whether to move ahead with plans for a new hospital in Silsbee, and a spokeswoman says she expects the plans to be approved.
The company bought land near the old race track in Silsbee with the intention of opening a new hospital by the end of this year.
Those plans have been delayed.
Business development director Dorraine Smith tells KFDM News the new Chief Operating Officer for Renaissance is reviewing information about the hospital.
"There is a good chance it'll go forward," said Smith.
Smith says the hospital is eligible for government funding because the area has been deemed a medically under-served community. Smith says that funding makes the hospital plan more feasible. However, she says it may take Renaissance a little longer than it had planned to get the hospital built.
