Former Bridge City teacher pleads guilty to improper relationship with student
ORANGE - A former Bridge City teacher pleaded guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.
Megan Michelle Sparks, 26, who taught at Bridge City High School for about a year, said she was guilty of the charge Wednesday afternoon in Judge Pat Clark's courtroom.
The math teacher, who was hired by Bridge City ISD in May of 2008, resigned at the end of April. Her resignation came less than a week after she was placed on administrative leave following allegations that she had an improper relationship with a student.
Sparks waived her right to a grand jury hearing and possible trial as part of a plea agreement. The deal prevents Sparks from teaching in Texas again.
