Police have arrested a 37 year old Port Arthur man on charges of possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Port Arthur Police narcotics detectives and DPS officers conducted a search Tuesday night at a home at 6017 Mauve Avenue.

Officers say they found chemicals used to make meth as well as some of the finished product.

Investigators say the meth lab was capable of producing one or two ounces of meth per cook, and the size of the lab made it capable of several cooks each day.

The suspect faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted of the 2nd degree felony.
