Man causes collision after fleeing from police
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Doctors are treating a man who led police on a car chase across the west end of Beaumont.
Police say the 22-year-old from Silsbee crashed into two other vehicles Tuesday afternoon at Major and Highway 105.
He ran behind a medical office across the street and an off-duty officer caught him.
The chase began when officers saw the man driving recklessly through a school zone near Marshall Middle School at about 4:15 p.m.
When police tried to pull him over, he led them on a chase to Delaware and Major.
Officers approached the car and the man sped away, eventually ended up causing an accident at the Highway 105 intersection.
Once in custody, the man lost consciousness and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
