Police believe arrests will clear up series of home burglaries

Police in Silsbee believe the arrests of two people have solved a series of home burglaries.

Investigators say David Kyle Ahart, 24, was breaking into homes and stealing money, mostly coins, while people were sleeping.

Officers say Angela Darlene Faust, 26, would take the loose change and trade it for cash.

Police say they arrested the pair after the most recent burglary when Ahart entered the bedroom of an elderly couple while they slept.

Ahart is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of possession of a criminal instrument, which can be any item or device used to commit a crime.

Faust is charged with one count of burglary. Both were released from jail after posting bond.

Police Chief Dennis Allen says more charges are pending.
