Storm Knocks Out Power to Hundreds
Wind gusts of at least 50 miles an hour coupled with lightning contributed to power outages affecting about 600 Entergy customers.
Entergy spokeswoman Debi Derrick tells KFDM News when the storm moved through the area at about 4 a.m, the wind blew a tree into a power line near the Maury Meyers Bridge, knocking out power to about 500 customers.
Power was restored to those customers by 9:12.
A tree on a power line in the Hamshire area was the source of an outage to 99 customers.
Everyone should have power by now.
Entergy had crews out as soon as the power went out and Derrick says additional crews have worked to restore power.
"We've certainly seen a lot of storm damage across the country this spring, but we've come out quite well in this area despite the late cold fronts," said Derrick.
