Serial Robber Hitting Game Stops, Video Stores
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Law enforcement officers from Houston to the Golden Triangle are searching for a serial robber who has struck five game and video stores since July 19, with the most recent robbery Tuesday night in Southeast Texas.
The most recent robbery was at about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Game Stop on Edgar Brown Drive in West Orange.
Witnesses said a man entered the store and demanded money. He told the employees he had a gun but didn't show them a weapon.
Employees gave the man money. He left the store.
Witnesses describe the robber as a white man, 40-50 years old, about 6' tall, slender build but with a pot belly, with a very dark, bushy mustache.
He was wearing a dark, long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve, a light colored shirt over the top of it, light blue jeans and a dark baseball cap with some type of emblem on the front.
He usually carries a gun in his waistband and either pulls it out or shows it to clerks when he demands money.
Police say he often pretends to shop until customers leave. He then approaches the clerk, shows a gun and demands money. None of the employees has seen him leave in a vehicle and no one has been hurt.
He is suspected of robbing two Game Stops in Houston, one on 07-19-08 and the other on 07-29-08. He is also suspected of robbing the Game Stop in Beaumont on 08-04-08 at 6:41 p.m and the Blockbuster on Dowlen on 08-11-08 at 6:49 p.m.
Anyone with information about the robber or these crimes is asked to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 833-8477 or EasTex Crime Stoppers at 724-8477. You will not be asked your name and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
