DPS: 'Drink. Drive. Go to Jail'
BEAUMONT - The Department of Public Safety warns drivers on this Labor Day weekend that if they're caught drinking and driving they could lose their license and freedom.
The DPS in Beaumont and across Texas vows that people who drink and drive will go to jail if they're caught.
That's the theme of the agency's holiday driving safety campaign.
Extra troopers will be on the highways enforcing traffic safety laws.
They say it's not only drunk drivers but people who use cell phones or who text while driving that are a risk to others.
The DPS is also urging drivers to buckle up for safety. That means everyone in the car, in order to reduce the risk of injury in a collision.
