Groundbreaking for Elementary School in WO-C
The West Orange-Cove school district has broken ground on a new elementary school that'll feature ideas recommended by students and staff.
The school is going up on Martin Luther King Drive in Pinehurst.
Students, staff and others in the community have been meeting with the architect to help with the design.
The superintendent says it should open in the 2009-2010 school year and will provide a major boost to the education students receive.
Last November voters approved a $48 million bond issue to build the new school and improve other campuses in the West Orange-Cove district.
