Officers identify man dead after police shooting

The dead man from last night’s shooting at Parkdale Mall has been identified as Bernardo Martinez 63 years old from Nederland. According to police his family has been notified.
Beaumont Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the parking lot of Parkdale Mall.
Police say they received a call around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night of a man acting erratic inside the mall.
When police arrived, they say they found the 63-year-old Hispanic man with a knife outside Sears.
They say he approached a crowd with the knife and then turned toward officers.
An officer shot the man.
He later was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police are not releasing any information about the officer involved.
