The Jasper County grand jury has indicted a woman who is charged with murdering her husband last year at the couple's Evadale home.

41 year old Tammy Lynn Jones is accused of gunning down her husband, Roy Jones, 43, in their driveway at 154 Private Road 8225 on June 11th, 2008. According to the Jasper County Sheriff's Department, Jones called 911 at about 8:30 p.m. and reported to dispatchers that she had just shot her husband.

Lieutenant Curtis Frame said deputies determined that the couple had been arguing when the husband left in his truck, and the wife got a 22 caliber pistol and left in her car. Frame said the husband returned home first and when his wife returned, he attacked her car with a baseball bat. Frame said at that point, Tammy Jones shot Roy Jones one time in the chest.

Roy Jones was transported by EMS to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following her arrest, bond on Jones was set at $5,000 by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Freddie Miller, and she was released a short time later after posting bond.
