KFDM News has learned a Kountze Middle School teacher resigned Monday following allegations last week from two students who accuse him of inappropriately touching them.

The teacher was put on administrative leave with pay when the students came forward last Tuesday.

The school district has turned over its investigation to the Kountze Police Department.

Police Chief Andrew Trahan says no charges have been filed against the teacher, he says his detectives are interviewing students including the two teenage girls who are making the accusations.

Trahan isn't saying if the girls claim the touching happened on campus, whether it happened during school hours, or if it happened to them at the same time.

Kountze School District Superintendent Diane Daniels declined to comment on the allegations but did say, "safety is of the utmost importance to this district."

Chief Trahan says he doesn't have a time frame for completing the investigation.
