Orange County Sheriff Deputies investigating Sunday afternoon shooting
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Orange County Sheriff's office press release: On Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 2:20 P.M., Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to 3291 East Claire Drive in Orangefield concerning a shooting that had just occurred.
On arrival Deputies found the victim, Bryan Lee Nunez, a 43 year old Orangefield resident in the front yard of the residence, an apparent victim of a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital via Air Ambulance and is currently undergoing surgery.
Upon investigation and speaking to witnesses at the scene it was determined that an altercation had occurred at the residence between two brothers. During the altercation, the suspect, RONALD JAMES NUNEZ pulled out a handgun and shot his brother. The victim was able to tell Deputies that he had been shot by his brother. The extent of the victim's injuries is not known at this time.
The suspect, RONALD JAMES NUNEZ, a 50 year old Orangefield resident and brother of the victim was at the scene and was placed under arrest for aggravated assault and transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility. His bond will be set once he has bee arraigned on the charge.
The investigation is being conducted by the Orange County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Update: Orange County Sheriff spokesperson Chad Hogan says the shooting happened at a home at 3291 Claire Drive in Orangefield.
Hogan says the call came in as a possible fatal shooting, deputies say they do have a suspect in custody. We will continue to update the website as more information comes in regarding this case.

Orange County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene of a shooting near Orangefield. It happened around 2:30p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Details are still coming in, we do that one person was shot in the back. Paramedics have transported the victim to the hospital by helicopter.
