Arsonist sets limo, SUV and hotel on fire
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Port Arthur Fire Marshal is investigating a case of arson in which someone burned a car and then set a small fire in a hotel under construction before torching a limousine outside a law firm across the street. Fire Marshal Mark Mulliner tells KFDM News firefighters received a call shortly before five this morning about a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of the holiday inn express on Central Mall Drive. The hotel is under construction near Central Mall.
He says everyone was gone from the site when someone jumped over the fence and set a worker's vehicle on fire. Mulliner says it's believed the same person set a small fire inside the hotel in the east side of the building. It caused a small amount of damage. While the firefighters were battling the hotel fire, investigators saw smoke outside a building across the street. Someone had set a limousine on fire. It was under the carport at the back of the building.
If you have information about this fire call the fire marshal or EasTex CrimeStoppers at 724-TIPS.
