BPD works stabbing, chase, Cracker Barrel rocking chair theft

1) On 03-16-09 at 11:40 P.M. officers responded to a stabbing in the 7300 block of Pindo Circle. Upon their arrival they learned there was a disturbance between four people that led to two being stabbed and one being hit in the head with a hammer. Two were transported to the hospital by EMS and one was transported by private auto. The investigation is continuing.
2) On 03-17-09 at 2:30 A.M. a Beaumont Police K9 unit assisted DPS with a chase that ended in Chambers County near Wallisville, Texas. The K9 unit helped in the search and located the suspect. The suspect was bitten as he continued to resist. The suspect was transported to Bayside Hospital in Anahuac.
3) On 03-17-09 at 3:06 A.M. officer responded to a theft in progress at Cracker Barrel. Officers saw the suspect attempt to flee to his vehicle. An officer tried to stop him and was dragged for a short distance. The officer was not injured.
A vehicle pursuit started and continued through the south end of Beaumont. The chase ended at Edmonds and S. 5th Street. The suspect ran and tried to jump a fence. Officer struggled with the suspect for a long time during which one of the officers sustained a cut to his hand.
The suspect was treated and released from the hospital then transported and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. He was identified as Timothy Neal Jean Jr., a 41-year-old man from Port Arthur. Jean was charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant and Felony Evading Detention with a Vehicle.
The officer who sustained a cut was treated and released from the hospital.
