A man is in custody Tuesday morning after stealing an ATM from a Beaumont bank.

Just before 3 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the Wells Fargo Bank at 595 Interstate 10 North.

When officers arrived, they found a forklift - still running.

An attempt to locate was put out for a white box truck that was seen near the bank as officers responded to the call.  

Another officer saw the driver of a white box truck leaving the area. Police spotted the truck and stopped the driver about a mile past the Goodyear plant on I-10.

They discovered the box truck was stolen and found the ATM in the back of the truck.

Police took a man into custody.

Police say the driver, Leandro Sanchez, 42, of Houston, was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Felony Theft of the ATM.
