TXDOT to Reopen Portion of FM 770 Near Daisetta Sinkhole

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

State highway crews will reopen a portion of FM 770 Friday morning near the Daisetta sinkhole.

The highway has been closed since early May after a large sinkhole appeared near the roadway.

The Texas Department of Transportation and state law enforcement agencies closed the highway as a precaution after cracks appeared several feet from the edge of the highway.

TxDOT will continue monitoring the roadway during the next several days to make sure there is no damage to the road.

The agency says it will immediately close the highway if safety becomes an issue.
