A Groves man came home last night to find a large part of his home missing.

Workers tore apart his roof, then stopped and drove away after realizing they were at the wrong house.

There's a lot of work being done on Mark Victor's roof.

Contractors from Brammer Buildrers are trying to correct a problem that started with Ike and only grew.

"Just my whole roof tore up, shingles all over the ground and my blue roof tore off, all in the front yard," says Mark Victor.

Victor came home yesterday to find a mess on his roof. He asked his neighbors what happened, and found out contractors ripped up shingles, then just left. He was worried his contractor Eddy Brammer had started working and not finished.

"He rushed over and calmed me down," says Victor.

"I've been doing this for 35 years and I thought I saw everything, till now," says Eddy Brammer, owner of Brammer Builders, Inc. and Victor's contractor.

Brammer believes another contractor mistakenly removed shingles from the roof and left when they figured out they were working on the wrong house.

"He doesn't really have his insurance totally settled yet, so now we destroyed that," says Brammer.

But it did more damage than the house sustained during hurricane Ike.

"Started raining last night, I just laid in bed wondering where it started leaking," says Victor.

Water leaked through the roof and into Victor's house, leaving wet floors and stains on the ceiling.

"The roof needed attention, but not this kind .. If they have the integrity, they'll step up and say 'hey, we made a mistake and want to fix it.'" says Victor.

A mistake that left Victor hanging without an answer.

Victor called Groves Police. They're trying to find the men who took part of his roof.
