'You can check in but you can't check out.'

That line from an old commercial might be appropriate when you watch surveillance video of a burglar who broke into a Market Basket but appeared to become increasingly panicked when he couldn't find his way out.

Surveillance video shows the man running around inside the Market Basket, 5960 Highway 105 in Beaumont, at about 2:30 a.m. on January 25. He broke in through the roof but had trouble finding his way out of the store.

The video shows him running back and forth down several aisles looking for an exit, like a rat navigating a maze.

The man finally broke a window in front of the store to get out.

Video indicates the burglar is a white man, wearing a dark skull cap, dark jacket, dark jeans, white tennis shoes, tan backpack and tan gloves.
