Rising water prompts early release of Vidor ISD students
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Rising water near several schools in Vidor has prompted the district to call for the early release of students, according to information KFDM News has received from Dr. Joe Burns, Vidor ISD Superintendent.
Elementary school students will be released at 11 a.m. and secondary students at noon.
The district has cancelled the book walk at Oak Forest Elementary and the carnival at Vidor Elementary.
There are no reports of flooding but Dr. Burns says many neighborhoods in Vidor are in low-lying areas and there is a lot of standing water in drainage ditches.
