Drug sweep

Officers with the Hardin County Sheriff's Department have arrest warrants for 20 people and warrants to search two homes as part of a drug sweep.
An undercover investigation that lasted several months ended Wednesday with the round-up of suspects.
Officers with the Sheriff's Department and other agencies are serving warrants in Kountze and Sour Lake.
The drugs involved include cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and pills.
Sheriff's deputies say several Hardin County residents are in jail including a grandmother accused of distributing marijuana and a father and his 18 year old who were caught with pot. The drug sweep is the result of a five month illegal narcotics investigation. Officers set out to serve 20 arrest warrants. They successfully executed 2 search warrants in Kountze and Sour Lake.
Officers arrested 67 year old Barbara Platt for marijuana distribution. They also arrested a father and son for possession of marijuana; 46 year old Carl Dennis and 18 year old Josh Dennis.
Sheriff Ed Cain says he spoke with the father who openly admitted to giving his son pot. Family members and children watch from the front porch as their father and older brother were taken away in handcuffs.
