Boil Water Notice affects some families in Kirbyville
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A main break on a water line in Kirbyville has forced the city to ask some families to boil their water until further notice.
The break has caused a loss of pressure in the system, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Kirbyville to notify customers in the South Elizabeth area (Pecan, Pine, Fair, Stadium, Sun, Doel, Bean, Meadow, Max Lee. McMahon, Freddye, Easy, Shady Lane and Highway 82) to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice, should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Instead of boiling, families can purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.
When it's no longer necessary to boil the water, the City of Kirbyville will notify you that the water is safe for consumption.
