KFDM news has learned the Chambers County Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder that happened in Winnie early Sunday morning.

Details are still coming in but KFDM has confirmed a 43 year old white male was stabbed to death inside his home in the 1300 block of Rose. He was found by the woman who delivers his paper. The woman noticed the house was smoking and tried to open the door and saw a body on the floor.

Neighbors in the area say the man killed was David Davis.

Justice of Peace Yale Devillier said he'd been stabbed in his neck, back, and the back of the head.

Neighbors said he was killed during an argument with another man.

Sheriff deputies have not released any information about the murder except to confirm there was one.

Devillier has ordered an autopsy.
