Fatal accident in Tyler County
TYLER COUNTY - Mike Lout/KJAS - An auto accident that occurred shortly before 11:00 on Tuesday morning left a Woodville woman dead and another injured.
A report filed by DPS Trooper Rebecca Gentry said the crash occurred about 7 miles west of Woodville, on Highway 190, when a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica, driven by 79 year old Lorraine Witt of Woodville, pulled out onto the roadway in the path of a 1993 Honda Civic, driven by 21 year old Ashley Masterson.
Lorraine Witt was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Leonard Witt, also of Woodville, was taken by ambulance to Tyler County Hospital.
Masterson, also of Woodville, was also taken by ambulance to Tyler County Hospital with what were said to be serious injuries. However, four passengers riding with her, Darius Masterson, 3, along with Dara Chun, 24, Pukiaya Chun, 1, and Denise Chun, 3 months, all of Cleveland, were not injured in the crash.
