The FDA is investigating Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT); it is monitoring the risks of using TRT. There are two studies which suggest an increased risk of cardiovascular events in specific groups of men who took TRT.
A study published in the November 2013 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that there was a 30% increased risk of stroke, heart attack and death in men who used TRT. A second study found that men 65 years and older who used TRT were twice as likely to have a heart attack. The study also determined that men under 65 with pre-existing heart disease had a two-fold risk of having a heart attack.
The law firm of Waldman Smallwood is currently investigating claims regarding TRT. If you or a loved one has suffered a heart attack or stroke while receiving testosterone therapy, you may be eligible to file a claim. Our attorneys are available to evaluate your potential case.
