This week's restaurant inspection scores come to us from the Hardin County Health Department.
TAMMY'S COUNTRY KITCHEN 115 HWY 326 SOUTH SWEEP 3/SOUR LAKE
We begin with Tammy's Country Kitchen on Highway 326 South in Sour Lake. Inspector Kellum found food not at the proper temperature. The ice machine needed cleaning. Meat was not thawing properly, should be under running water. Fish in one of the coolers had to be thrown out because of the smell. Tammy's Country Kitchen in Sour Lake gets an 81.

Next is Jr Food Mart in Silsbee. Inspector Kellum found food wasn't being kept hot enough, a thermometer was needed in the reach in cooler to ensure safe food temperatures, and there were out of date canned goods on the shelf. Jr. Food Mart in Silsbee gets an 81.
DAIRY QUEEN 1290 SOUTH PINE KOUNTZE/GRADE=87
Now to Dairy Queen in Kountze. Inspector Kellum found the floors needed cleaning, and a thermometer was needed in the reach in freezer to ensure safe food temperatures. Dairy Queen in Kountze gets an 87.
MCDONALD'S 103 NORTH MAIN LUMBERTON/NO SCORE
Inspector Kellum checked out a complaint about McDonald's in Lumberton. She said equipment and floors needed to be cleaned. The seal around the door in the play area needed to be fixed. There was no score issued because it wasn't time for the regular inspection.
HOT WOK 76 North LHS Dr. Lumberton/NO SCORE
and finally we check out HOT Wok on North LHS Drive in Lumberton. Inspector Kellum said floors and appliances needed to be cleaned. Wiping rags needed to be in a sanitizing solution to kill germs and the employer needed clean aprons when working around food. No score was issued because it wasn't time for the regular inspection.
