ORANGE COUNTY - by Scott Lawrence - A collision in Orange County has killed a driver from Beaumont.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says according to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet truck was traveling north on Highway 62 at about 5 a.m. Friday when he veered into the southbound lanes, striking a 2003 Chrysler passenger car.
The driver of the Chevrolet truck was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth by medical helicopter. The driver was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a man from Beaumont, was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
At this time, the DPS isn't releasing the names of the drivers until officers notify relatives.
